In celebration of the World No Tobacco Day marked on May 31 annually, the British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN) has pledged to push for a safer tobacco alternative.
Freddy Messanvi, the Legal and External Affairs Director of BATN, said that in a bid to reduce tobacco harm, e-cigarette Viper would be a better substitute and if successful, it would be a breakthrough and lead to industry transformation since it produces vaporised nicotine without side effects as is the case with tobacco.
He said the company will continue to abide by the rules of countries they operate in and keep exploring safer and new offerings to consumers.
The trending substitute of traditional cigarette which is the e-cigarette viper has been affirmed as a much-reduced risk substitute compared to the traditional cigarette. Publications from the Public Health England showed that vaping was about 95% less harmful than smoking tobacco.
