Ebonyi State governor, Engineer Dave Umahi, yesterday moved to break the ranks of pro-Biafra agitators, threatening to deal with residents who identify with the secessionists.

To this effect, following the call by the Indigenous People of Biafra’s (IPOB) for a sit at home in the five South-east states to mark the anniversary of the declaration of Biafra, Umahi, says traders who comply with the IPOB directive will permanently forfeit their shops.

Umahi, issued the threat during the 2018 democracy day celebration, yesterday.

The governor, who said the parts that constitute present-day Ebonyi state were largely marginalised during their days in the old Anambra, Enugu and Abia states, described the IPOB order as a distraction and a second colonisation.

He also said any pro-Biafra protests would be met with the full force of the law.
