WHO SENDS 39 PERSONNEL TO CONTROL CHOLERA OUTBREAK IN ADAMAWA

39 Personnel have been deployed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to tackle the recent Cholera Outbreak in Adamawa state.

The WHO Communications officer, Mrs Warigon, made this statement in Abuja on Monday highlighting the disease count of 434 cases with 13 deaths as at May 26.

She said personnel had been deployed to Mubi North and Mubi South local government areas to coordinate case management, quick response to the outbreak, with checks and tracing of suspected cases for treatment.

Arrangements are in progress by WHO for 15 more personnel to be brought on board to ensure the disease doesn’t spread.

The Health authority has set up a Cholera treatment centre at the General Hospital Mubi to control the outbreak.
