Following the gruesome killing of over 30 people on April 5 at the scenes of 5 bank robberies in Kwara State, the mastermind of the operation, Michael Adikwu has since been arrested by the Special Intelligence Response Team of the Inspector General of Police.
Apparently, Adikwu was once a policeman but was dismissed after allowing a gang of suspected robbers escape.
Once identified, he was declared wanted, arrested by the IRT and has confessed to killing six policemen at the robbery scene. During his interrogation, he said he was the one who masterminded the robbery as he felt he was unjustly evicted from the force hence vowed to deal with the Nigerian Police Force.
Michael Adikwu is currently detained at the force headquarters in Abuja. Some other suspects have also been arrested in association with the robbery.
