It was confirmed by the Zamfara Police command that seven people have been killed in new attacks by gunmen in Gidan-Labbo village, Gidan-Goga district of Maradun Local Government Area of the state on Friday.
DSP Muhammed Shehu, the Public Relations Officer of the police command said this on Sunday while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria.
The victims were attacked on their farmlands in Malikawa forest, Giddan Labbo village while clearing their farms in preparation for the planting season.
He further stated that security officials are on the ground to ensure stability in the area.
Governor Abdul’aziz Yari, while launching the sales and distribution of fertiliser to farmers, stated he was aware that the bandits had been sending threatening letters warning them to steer clear of their farms; he mentioned that proper actions would be taken after meetings with President Muhammad Buhari and other security chiefs on how to resolve the security issues.
