The quick response of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LAWSA) led to the rescue of 24 passengers involved in a boat collision.
This accident occurred on Friday at about 7:45 pm at the Ojo terminal In Ojo area of Lagos state. The mishap occurred as two boats collided and capsized. One boat had 22 passengers on board while the other had the captain and deckhand on board.
Mr Damilola Emmanuel, Managing Director, Lagos Waterways Authority (LAWSA) confirmed this incidence stating that, with the quick response of the patrol team, all passengers were saved and transported to shore and no life was lost.
He further added that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the collision and the affected boats, Eco Lima and Toba Marine are in their custody.
