Following his defection from the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Iyiola Omisore has formally joined the Social Democratic Party in Osun State
The state chapter of the party, which confirmed Omisore’s membership of the party, disclosed that he is one of the four aspirants vying for the governorship seat under the party.
The state chairman, Ishola Ademola, said Omisore validated his membership of the party as he met all requirements for recognition as a member of the party at the ward, local and state levels.
Ademola boasted the party will unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress government in the state.
The SDP had previously denied that the former Deputy Governor had joined the party, after a claim that he was already the party’s flag bearer to November’s gubernatorial election in the state.
