Court fines woman ₦50,000 for making noise in Court

Of recent, a number of companies have come out with revised privacy laws, and this is no coincidence as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) becomes effective on the 25th of May across the European Union.

The new Privacy Laws aim to give people more control over the use of their personal information and to ensure that the information collected is stored safely and cannot be exploited.

The new laws should not hamper companies from collecting data, however, they will henceforth need a legal reason to do so or receive the consent of users, on the condition that the information is vital to providing the service.
