Beneficiaries of the student grants and scholarships by the Presidential Amnesty Programme have alleged neglect by the Federal Government in Russia. 19 of them are currently in final year undergoing post-graduate studies in the People’s Friendship University of Russia.

They made claims that Paul Boroh, sacked coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty programme stopped sending funds to them since June 2016.

The leader of the scholarship beneficiaries, Abilo Franz, stated that a delegation was sent to meet with Boroh alongside Asari Udem, head of offshore education, where they promised to resolve the issues and assured them of their continued education. They were sent a circular 2 months later, precisely November 10, 2016, where they were informed that they should return home as the Presidential amnesty office did not have the resources to continue funding their education.

He implores the current Coordinator, Prof Charles Quakers Dokubo to come to their aid as they have been left to fend for themselves for months now with their education suffering.
