At least 10 persons have been killed by bandits in fresh attacks in four villages in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
In a statement by the group, Birnin Gwari Vanguards for Security and Good Governance, several bodies are unaccounted for while only 10 bodies were recently recovered.
The recent attacks come only three days after the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, gave the army a three-week ultimatum to flush out bandits from the local government.
Eyewitness accounts said the attack lasted three and half hours as the armed bandits attacked the villages at about 5.00 p.m, burning houses and grains stock.
In a related development, herdmen also killed three and wounded scores, set several houses, huts and food barns ablaze in Ukemberagya community, Gaambe-Tiev council ward of Logo local government area of Benue.
