David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has made his way into the news again and not with his multiple wins at the just concluded Headies awards which held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the Eko Convention Centre or the fact that he bought his girlfriend Chioma a Multi-Million-naira car.
This time a Young Man simply identified as Zona Gee has called Davido out on Facebook, claiming he wrote his most recent hit single ‘Assurance’, released by Davido to honour his girlfriend Chioma.
The young man claims he has not received any acknowledgement or accolades for his effort. Zona Gee posted screenshots of his WhatsApp chat with Davido, which have been deleted on Facebook.
He wrote: “So after writing ‘Assurance’ for Davido no credit was given to me nor my name mentioned. Such is life still your fan though…disturbing the industry soon.
Zona Gee who in their WhatsApp conversation revealed he got Davido’s number from Mayorkun, a Davido signee, explained to Davido that he had a love song that he would like Davido to have and afterwards he requested the singer’s email address and forwarded the song including a voice note of how he thinks the song should sound. Unfortunately for the young man, after the song became a national hit, he didn’t get any form of acknowledgement or credit for writing the song.
If this is true, Davido please give him some “Assurance”.
