These might not be the best of times for reggae dancehall sensation Cynthia Morgan. Information filtering out from her camp indicate that the singer might be flat broke.
Apart from the rent on her apartment, which is said to have been due since six months ago, Ms Morgan is allegedly having a run with the tax man, as she’s currently being sued over tax evasion.
A national newspaper, at the weekend, claimed it had court documents indicating that the dance hall queen has been charged to the Ikeja high court on the grounds of unpaid rent of her Omole apartment, even as she had also been served court papers for evasion of tax.
However, a representative of the singer, who identified himself as Maze, denied all the allegations, and demanded that he be furnished with proof of both the suit and the alleged indebtedness of the artiste.
Reports making the rounds have it that the ‘German juice’ crooner is in arrears for her 1.3 million naira rent and was recently served court papers for a 3.58 million naira tax evasion case.
The singer has yet to personally respond to the allegations.
