Against the speculations and reports, Singapore’s prime minister said they had not received any formal request or invitation from either the United States or North Korea as to where the much-anticipated meeting between the US and North Korea would take place.
For the first time in over 65 years, the North Korean leader crossed the borders to South Korea for the historic summit making him the first member of his family to cross the Demilitarized zone since the Korean War. The North and South Korean leaders agreed to dispose of their nuclear weapons.
Trump confirmed on Friday in a tweet that he had a successful discussion with President Moon of South Korea and the time for the meeting is being set.
Although Trump while at a summit with German Chancellor Angela Merkel said they had two locations in mind for the meeting but made no mention of them.
He has also spoken to the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe regarding the ongoing negotiations.
