Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai says the army is setting up a 10-man committee to investigate the allegations by former chief of army staff, Lt. Gen. Theophilus  Danjuma,  against the army.

Danjuma is alledged to have accused the Nigeria army of not protecting the people of Taraba and colluding with herdsmen in Taraba to kill the people.

He made this allegation during a convocation at the Taraba State University, last month.

The retired general had counselled Tarabans to pick up arms in self-defence against the terrorists.

While inaugurating the committee, Buratai pointed out that Danjuma’s allegation could result in a loss of confidence in the army by Nigerians, if not investigated.
