The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered a former Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, to enter his defence in the N29 billion fraud case.

In a ruling delivered by Justice Okon Abang on Monday, the trial judge dismissed Nyako’s no-case submission filed before it.

While arguing the application, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), had urged the court to dismiss the no-case submission that a case has been established against all the defendants while the defendant wants the court to strike out the alleged N29 billion money laundering charges filed against him and his co-defendants.

The EFCC began Nyako’s trial in 2015 after arraigning him on a 37-count charge of criminal conspiracy, abuse of office, and money laundering.
